music theory history part 1 of 2
History of music theory. Today I have learned about the first music notes. First instruments(flutes) we can notice in the prehistory for example. First notes we can see in Mezopothamia, but this are mainly lists of intervals and tunings and the songs are not very extensive, well sounding and suitable to music theory. We can notice that also in India, China and a little bit later in Arabic countries, but at this time in Greece the real birth of music is taking a place. First professors of music invented a notation, scales, rhytms and types of compositions which we use till today. One of the music theorist is Phytagoras and a lot of books are created which tells us about the harmonic rhytms and mathematic in music, but also wonder about what music really is and reflecting on music philosophically.
